How is this a week ago already?! BACK 2 SKOOL was definitely a highlight of 2025 for us 🥰 You guys were AMAZING 👏🏻 ... See MoreSee Less
The sad news about the upcoming closure of The Appleyard is a huge loss for both Sittingbourne as a community and for the wider Swale area. Our thoughts are, of course, with everyone who has lost their job as a result and we are sending our love to them all at this very difficult time.
Marylebone Jelly’s story has been interwoven with The Appleyard’s over the years - the original line up of MBJ performed in the lower lounge in 1997 and our first festival headline slot was Party In The Park 2008 (thanks Debbie Triggs!)
Since then we’ve been fortunate enough to perform at the venue countless times.
Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, charity fundraisers, dinner and dance events and more have all taken place there with us providing the soundtrack.
When we decided to put on the 80s Mixtape shows, we went to Sarah and Mike with the idea and they became our partners - enthusiastically dressing up, joining in and donating to the charities we supported. Their team were nothing but awesome!
We’ve graced the Party In The Park stage 11 times (!) - an event that became a staple in the summer calendar for so many in Sittingbourne thanks to Sarah and Mike’s hard work! Along the way the event meant we got to meet so many people who became our friends. It also meant we could boast that East 17, Toyah, Aswad and The Christians were our support bands, which is pretty cool 🤣
So before the door is closed for the final time we want to say thanks for the wonderful memories - we’ll cherish them always. We’ll miss you.
Marylebone Jelly 😘🥺😔

UPDATE…
Phew! Sittingbourne & Milton Regis Golf Club will now be running the event on 20th December 🥳 They’ll be working through logistics early next week and we will, of course, keep you updated on their plans
IMPORTANT APPLEYARD NEWS
By now, many of you will have received emails from The Appleyard with the sad news of their upcoming closure. Given our long standing history with the venue and with Sarah & Mike, we will, of course, be posting about this separately 😢
Obviously, this affects the Christmas Dinner & Dance with Marylebone Jelly on 20th December. For those of you who have booked for this, we are currently having conversations with a view to securing an alternate Sittingbourne venue so the event can go ahead.
Please keep an eye on this page and we’ll provide an update as soon as we can x
